Eicher Extends Full GST Benefits to Customers on Trucks and Buses
Eicher Motors Limited (EML) is an Indian multinational automotive manufacturer that produces motorcycles under the Royal Enfield brand and commercial vehicles through a joint venture called VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) with the Volvo Group.
VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) on September 10, 2025 has announced that it will pass on the benefits of the revised GST rates to customers.
Starting September 22, in celebration of Navratri, Eicher is offering customers lower acquisition costs on its latest range of modern, fuel-efficient trucks and buses.
“We thank the Hon’ble Prime Minister and Finance Minister and the GST Council for this landmark decision to reduce GST on trucks and buses to 18%; earlier it was 28%. This reform, in line with the vision of Prime Minister provides timely relief after a period of slowing sales and rising input costs in the CV sector. Along with immediate customer advantages, the wider economic impact is important – reduced logistics costs aligned with the PM Gati Shakti initiative, improved consumer confidence, and a projected GDP boost driven by growth in logistics and allied sectors.” said Mr. Vinod Aggarwal, MD and CEO, VECV.
For truck operators, the GST cut will help ease cost pressures and stimulate demand in freight and logistics on the other hand for buses, it will motivate fleet modernisation by state transport corporations and private operators, enhancing public mobility. This move will empower faster adoption of safer, fuel-efficient, and modern Eicher vehicles. It is also strengthening India’s automobile industry and supporting the India’s vision in its Amrit Kaal.
According to the GST rate reduction, Benefits of up to Rs. 6 lakhs are now available to customers:-

The GST rate for electric trucks and buses continues at a beneficial 5%.
