Fake Chartered Accountant exposed in Major Crackdown by Income Tax Department

On July 14 2025, the Income Tax Department carried out a coordinated operation in Rajasthan, including Bhilwara, that involved multiple raids in order to target individuals and tax consultants suspected of facilitating fraudulent income tax deductions.

During the operation, a case was opened up in Bhilwara, where the government raided the house of Rajesh Khoiwal, of Tilak Nagar, Street No. 5. Khoiwal was masquerading as a Chartered Accountant, continuously filed income tax returns, and offered tax services to his clients, all without the requisite CA qualifications.

During the search of his premises, officials seized documents and digital devices for further forensic examination. This person was portrayed as a Chartered Accountant but was determined to be beyond the ambit of qualification and certification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

The raids in Bhilwara formed part of the department’s broader investigation into bogus claims under political donations, tuition fees, medical expenses, and other exemptions, an operation spanning across more than 11 locations in five Rajasthan cities, including Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Chittorgarh, and Bhilwara.

Two Chartered Accountants have also posted on platform X, which is formally known as Twitter, stating, “Major crackdown by @IncomeTaxIndia in Bhilwara! A person falsely claiming to be a Chartered Accountant has been exposed during a tax raid. Strict action must follow to protect the integrity of the CA profession.”

A News Channel also posted on platform X, saying, “#Bhilwara : फर्जी CA के घर इनकम टैक्स की रेड का मामला”
