FASTag Annual Pass Anticipated to Launch on Independence Day: Freedom from Frequent Toll Payments

On August 15, 2025 (on Independence Day), a major update is about to be introduced in FASTage, India’s electronic toll payment system. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will begin offering the FASTag Annual Pass on that day. This major update is aimed towards making highway travel easier and at affordable rates for frequent travellers. This update is meant for private cars, jeeps, and vans.

Declaring the new pass, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways said, “long-standing concerns regarding toll plazas located within a 60 km range, and simplifies toll payments through a single, affordable transaction. By reducing wait times, easing congestion, and minimising disputes at toll plazas, the Annual Pass aims to deliver a faster and smoother travel experience for millions of private vehicle owners.”
