Government Imposes Anti Dumping Duty on Vitamin A Palmitate [Read Notification]

The Ministry of Finance has recently issued a notification on June 6, 2025, regarding the import of “Vitamin-A Palmitate“. The Central Government has decided to impose an anti-dumping duty on imports of Vitamin-A Palmitate from China PR, the European Union and Switzerland.

This comes after the investigation done by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) revealed that:

• The price of Vitamin-A Palmitate imported in India by these countries was lower than the normal value, known as dumping.
• This dumping damaged the Indian industry that manufactures the same product.
• The price of imported goods was lower than the selling price of Indian Industry.

Therefore, to prevent unfair trade practices and protect local industries, the government is imposing the anti-dumping duty for five years unless it is cancelled or revised.
