Govt Changes e-Filing Rules for Debts Recovery Tribunals and Appellate Tribunals

The ministry has issued a notification on June 23, 2025, about the new guidelines of the Debts Recovery Tribunals (DRTs) and Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunals (DRATs) Electronic Filing Rules, 2020. The Central Government is making some changes in the e-filing of DRTs and DRATs Rules. These Changes are as follows:

These rules will be known as the Debts Recovery Tribunals and Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunals Electronic Filing (Amendment) Rules, 2025.

Rule 4 in the DRTs and DRATs Electronic Filing Rules, 2020, will be replaced by the following:

All pleadings required under the Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act, 1993 and the Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest (SARFAESI) Act, 2002, must now be submitted online using the e-DRT system. A User manual for this e-filing is available on the e-DRT website to guide you in filing them correctly.
