GSTN New Update! GST Payments Made Easier: UPI and Debit/Credit Cards Now Accepted in More States
The government has introduced a new update related to GST payment. According to the new update, paying GST has become much simpler by allowing businesses and taxpayers to use UPI and debit/credit cards for payments. This facility, which was earlier available in some states, has now been extended to Mizoram as well.
From now on, taxpayers in Mizoram can pay their GST dues via debit cards provided by Indian Bank and UPI payments through South Indian Bank. This step is aimed at making tax payments easier, faster, and more digital in the country.
The payment system supports almost all popular platforms like Rupay, MasterCard, Visa, and Diners cards. A wide network of banks is connected to this system, including Axis Bank, Canara Bank, HDFC Bank, IDFC First Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bandhan Bank, ICICI Bank, Indian Bank, Dhanlaxmi Bank, Karnataka Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, and South Indian Bank. Meaning, taxpayers can now make their GST payments using their preferred bank account or card without any hassle.
Till now this facility is available in 24 states and union territories in the country, including Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Assam, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Tripura, Goa, Karnataka, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, and Puducherry.
Note: The authority is soon anticipated to include the rest of the Indian states and banks in this list.
