Income Tax Breaking: ITR filing due date extended from 31st July 2025 to 15th September 2025

The Central Board of Direct Taxes has extended the due date to file the Income Tax Return from 31st July 2025 to 15th September 2025.

All the seven ITR forms has been released by the Income Tax Department for the AY 2025-26. These forms consist of ITR-1 to ITR-7, along with the verification form ITR-V. However the e-filing utilities tools, which are required to submit the forms on the official Income Tax website are still not available.

The due date to file ITR for Financial Year 2024-25 was July 31, 2025, for those taxpayer who are not required to audit their accounts. The Same has been extended to 15th September 2025. As of Now same has been announced via press release. It would be official once notified by CBDT.

There are high chances that the Due dates of Tax Audit and Transfer Pricing (TP) Audit, and ITRs for Taxpayers having Tax Audit and TP Audit will also be extended. Although nothing Official yet.
