Meet Sreekumar P R: A CA Who Proved Disability Does Not Define One’s Capability

Sreekumar P R from Puthenchira, Thrissur, has proved that disability does not define one’s capability. The 27-year-old has passed the Chartered Accountancy (CA) exam even though he suffered from severe locomotor disability, which affected his life. His achievement proved that nothing is impossible when it comes to dreams. His story has inspired all the CA aspirants by showing that hard work and self-belief can help anyone overcome challenges.

Sreekumar, who cannot even hold a book or turn its pages, studied by scanning material on a computer screen and verbally dictated his answers to the writer during the exams. He has now become a Chartered Accountant at the age of 27. The President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), CA Charanjot Singh Nanda, has also congratulated him.

His journey of becoming a CA was not easy with his disability that has followed him his entire life. However, he did not let the disability limit his potential. This moment is also a proud one for Sreekumar’s parents, who supported him the most in his CA journey.

Sreekumar claims that his cousin, who is a B.Tech student, also supported him through his entire journey. After years of preparation, he passed the exams in 2023 and completed his three-year articleship from a local CA firm.
