Govt Notifies Concessional 0.1% Guarantee Fee For NBFID Borrowings From Multilateral And Sovereign Funds

Recently on July 30, 2025 Department of Financial Services shared a notification given by section 31 of the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NBFID) Act, 2017. The Central Government makes the below mentioned rules to amend the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development General 2022, namely:-

1.(1) These rules will be known as the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development General (Amendment) Rules, 2025.
(2) They will come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2.The followings will be placed in the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development General Rules, 2022 after rule 9:-

(1) The concessional rate of fees for Government guarantees applicable to the institution will be 0.1 percent, for borrowings from multilateral institution or others mentioned by the Central Government.

The notification also states tha the Central government also may reduce such concessional rate of fees for government guarantee with respect of borrowings to be availed by the Institution. and the Institution must submit a request to the Central Government with the details of the borrowings, the parties involved and the intended use of the borrowed funds.

(2) On April 1, the guarantee fee will be payable by the Institution at the time of securing the Government guarantee and thereafter every year.

(3) The Government guarantee fees will be subject to other conditions levied by the Central Government.
